about

This was originally released in 2000 on both CD and LP from Germany's September Gurls label. When we recorded this, we were starting to shift from total improvisation, and were looking for a way to improvise within structures. On "Endless Renovation" we'd started this a bit, and on this album we really experimented a lot. It was recorded in our practice space, where we had a 16-track ADAT setup so we could take our time and mess around. This album is less intense and heavy than the albums before and after, and more spacey, and while it has its ups and downs, some of it has held up really well.

We were also lucky to have our friend Doug Ferguson (RIP; from Yeti, Ohm, and others) visit and join us playing organ on the special track "Indy Maru". "Drink Me" was recorded live at a house party show in Las Vegas while on tour in September 1998.
