about

We played a lot of shows in San Francisco in the late 90s and early 00s. These two, during the same week, were both recorded pretty well and have some fun variations on songs that were being worked out prior to recording the "Also Rising" album.

The first set (tracks 1-7) was recorded at the Great American Music Hall on July 14, 2001. We opened for our friends Rovo (from Japan), with Live Human and Zmrzlina also on the bill. Our pal JK47 did our live sound, and you will appreciate his dubbed-out delays on the drums.

The second set (tracks 8-15) was recorded at the Paradise Lounge (RIP) on July 20, 2001. A smaller, more intimate space, and some good energy although I couldn't tell you if there was much of an audience that night. We played with Pollo del Mar (cool space-surf-rock) and Debriah.

These are live recordings so they're occasionally rough but the sound is overall pretty good -- enjoy!
